Just a few examples of what can be done with transparent fiber reactive dyes.  Not only do you get deeper primary hues, but unusual secondary shades appear when a color's complement is dyed over it.

Sometimes all that is needed is a light tint, which has the added benefit of making the whole cloth colorfast.
